About Adrian Bleackley
Adrian joins Engel & Völkers with over 35 years international experience in real estate spent in London, the West Indies and Florida.
His career began in the UK working as an estate agent. He then spent several years as an appraiser and qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a globally recognised qualification relating to valuation, sale, development and management of residential & commercial real estate. In 1985 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institution.
From the late 1980’s he spent five years in the British Virgin Islands as a Director of Smiths Gore Overseas Ltd, a long established UK firm of estate agents and chartered surveyors. While there he undertook appraisals, sold luxury homes, raw land and islands, including working on Necker Island, owned by Richard Branson. He also acted as owners’ representative managing and overseeing construction of homes for expatriate owners.
In 1989 he returned to London working there for 27 years as Property Director of Pegasi Management Co Ltd. This was an investment management vehicle owned by a Gulf State Ruling family. His role there was to oversee management/development and acquisition within a £1billion portfolio comprising 250 luxury residential units, shops, offices and 2 five star hotels in Knightsbridge.
In 2013 he resigned his position in London and worked briefly as an independent consultant advising clients on real estate in the UK and Florida. He then joined Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Tampa, before moving to Engel & Völkers in 2018.
Adrian has had a lifelong interest in real estate including the restoration of old homes and lives in the “Old Northeast” of St Petersburg a characterful area of cottages built from the 1920’s onwards. He also enjoys sailing, music and keeping fit to allow his interest in fine wine and good food.
