I discovered that I enjoy real estate sales when I began my career in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1984. At that time, I was a Realtor specializing in suburban mountain ranch sites.
After relocating to San Diego, California, in 1991, I obtained my California licensed and joined a Realtor firm in North San Diego County, where I specialized in beach community residences. My husband, Ken, was recruited to oversee a large land development project and we temporarily relocated to Missouri. At that time we both obtained our real estate broker’s licenses and helped to market portions of the property, including a section which had been set aside for equestrian estates. One of my prospects was a local Physician and his wife who invited me to attend a Hunter/Jumper show. At the show, I immediately knew that I would get training to do this sport, and that these large athletic horses would be a part of my life forever.
In 1996, I bought my first sport horse, Finnigan, a Dutch Warmblood who was a Hunter/Jumper from a large sport horse farm in Carbondale, Colorado. I currently have Hercules, an Oldenberg Jumper that I acquired in 2006, from the lady who started this all, the physician’s wife in Missouri.
After years of training and the care of horses I decided to make equestrian real estate my career. In 1998 upon returning home from the Missouri project, we added Equestrian Properties to our brokerage specialties and have sold dozens of horse-related properties: from homes with equestrian facilities, to large commercial equestrian centers.
Knowing the needs of many disciplines has given me an edge on the market place. I was fortunate to ride and live in an area with some of the top riders in the US and Canada. Living in San Diego we have International and National Horse Shows year-round, just minutes for our Carlsbad Shop. My goal in working within the Engel & Völkers community of equestrian advisors is to best serve our clients with the utmost care.
My husband Ken and I love our 2016 Corvette Z06, and enjoy touring around in it, especially at Corvette Runs with our fellow members of The Corvettes of San Diego. We also love our Golden Retriever, Jesse, and Lhasa Apso, Natalie, our 2 rescued cat litermates, Shorty and Mr. Black, and of course Hercules, my Oldenberg Horse! We live in and enjoy all that North San Diego County has to offer. For me: the weather is perfect, the Ocean is incredible. I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
