Local Real Estate Expertise with a Global Reach: Engel & Völkers

About

John has been fortunate to have had a wide array of experiences during his 21-year real estate career. Immediately after college he began working for the family real estate company, which at the time was a discount real estate company. They did their listings by volume, so John had the opportunity to list over 700 different pieces of property while selling for that company.

In 2001 John assisted in the formation of a new real estate company called Chapman Hall Realtors. Before moving to Saint Simons Island in 2009, he was fundamental in the foundation of franchise sales for Chapman Hall Realtors in Atlanta. John was able to help sell six franchise offices before moving to the Georgia coast, where he opened up his own Chapman Hall Realtors office. Chapman Hall Realtors statewide was recently ranked number 243 of all of the real estate companies in the country with over $1 billion in sales for 2019. John also owned a franchise of the company “We Buy Ugly Houses“ where he bought and sold multiple properties and has been a longtime landlord.

However, nothing John has done in real estate has been as rewarding as joining forces with Engel & Völkers and opening up his own shop on St. Simons Island. It is truly an amazing brand with unbeatable tools and resources. Within just a few months the shop was able to go from being ranked number 23 to joining the top 15 of all residential real estate companies in the area and have increased their average sales price by over $200,000. John is very excited about the potential that the shop has for growth and the potential to help change the way real estate is done in this area for the better.

John has been so blessed to be able to call St. Simons home and to be able to raise a family in this relaxed way of life. When not working as a real estate broker, John enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa and their two girls. They love going to the beach, the pool, or spending time out on the boat. As a family the Hallmans all love boating, where they can fish, tube, or just enjoy spending time on the water. John and his family feel very lucky to be able to enjoy this incredible area and all the beautiful things it provides.
