Local Real Estate Expertise with a Global Reach: Engel & Völkers

As the son of a retired Naval Senior Chief, Floyd “Spence” Spencer III has lived up and down the east coast after having been born in Portsmouth, VA at the Naval Hospital. This afforded him the opportunity to befriend many interesting and diverse people.

In 1988, his father retired, and the family permanently relocated too beautiful Stuart, Florida where Spence’s grandparents already resided. With Stuart being the Sailfish Capital of the World and having a high rate of boat ownership, it was only natural for Spence to launch a career selling boats. That was 1999; in 2001, he received his Yacht Brokers license, which is active to this day. After selling boats to several clients who also wished to buy property in the area, Spence secured his Real Estate license.

He started full time with John Gonzalez at Sailfish Realty in 2014, which became Engel & Volkers in 2016.

Spence has lived on Saint Lucie Boulevard since 2001 with his wife Kathryn, a floor coverings executive, and their two Bahamian pot cake dogs, Rummy and Walker. They are the sixth and seventh pups that Spence and Kathryn have rescued over the years.

Spence is looking forward to many more years serving his clients and the Treasure Coast community—a place he believes is second-to-none.
