I’m a Midwest girl, having grown up in the suburbs of Chicago, but my heart longs to travel. I couldn’t stay put there for long. That’s exactly how I ended up here. My diverse background gives me a unique understanding of how people interact, and now I get to use that in the business world. I grew up wanting to be a doctor or a scientist or something (or a Lego® engineer!), so I studied science and got my bachelor’s in biology, but I was always intrigued by how people relate, so I also minored in psychology. Soon after graduation I knew I wanted to travel, so I did some studying in Intercultural Studies and then found myself headed for Spain. I worked there for a non-profit for 7 years and only recently returned. As I looked over my possibilities about where to live, I zeroed in on Southern California because that’s where my best friend, Lindsey Smith lived. She and I have known each other since we were 12 years old, so I knew that it would be a welcome place…but the climate, ocean, and access to a wide variety of outdoor activities didn’t hurt my decision-making process either! You'll usually find me these days either roaming a beach somewhere or riding my bike or hiking on any number of trails.
I’ve been with Engel & Völkers Carlsbad for over a year now, and it has been a joy working with Trevor and Lindsey. Once you get to know them, you’ll know why I didn’t hesitate when asked to work for a friend. They are two of the friendliest people I know, are great at giving back to the community, and always go above and beyond in their service. If you call the shop, you’ll most likely hear my voice on the other end, I hold the shop open on weekdays, and I enjoy the other variety that my job has to offer. Lindsey likes to call me the Resident Problem Solver, but I don’t think that’s my official title. It is truly my pleasure to work as the Operations Manager here at Engel & Völkers Carlsbad!
