This year’s Exchange brought together nearly 1,000 of the network’s best at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California. Filled with exciting news, product announcements, networking, and tons of learning, Exchange 2020 may have been our best one yet. We have put together a full recap of all the events and announcements so that anyone who was unable to attend, can still be in-the-know when it comes to Exchange.
In the opening remarks, Engel & Völkers Americas President and CEO, Anthony Hitt, highlighted another record-breaking year of global growth for Engel & Völkers, with the Americas network contributing to 1/3 of the brand’s GCI in 2019. EVI, Engel & Völkers’ proprietary data center, continues to evolve and enhance the offerings in the Integrated Product Suite (IPS), formerly the Integrated Technology Platform (ITP), to support the business of our license partners and advisors.
Engel & Völkers announced the launch of E&V Command, a data-driven app that allows you to manage your entire business at your fingertips. E&V Command empowers Engel & Völkers advisors with the capabilities to view, manage and track all of their listings and pending transactions in one place. Check out our article on the launch and make sure to download the app.
Attendees were then introduced to the all NEW Brand Central, powered by EVI and Xpressdocs. The new Brand Central automatically pulls listing images and descriptions into your account, allowing you to create marketing pieces effortlessly. High-speed processing ensures print-on-demand orders, from brand-approved property postcards and listing presentations to exposés, merchandise, and much more. You can access the new platform by visiting login.evrealestate.com and clicking on the Brand Central icon from the resource center.
After a fun key-tar intro, Engel & Völkers Academy introduced a new curriculum to help leverage all that Engel & Völkers has to offer, along with new business development courses designed to support your goals. Engage, the evolution of EVCP, will be offered monthly through an online learning approach. Mastery is our new, hands-on workshop, hyper-focused on generating leads, lead conversion, utilizing the Engel & Völkers systematic approach to servicing clients, the whiteboard presentation, and implementation of a true after-sale service program. Lastly, we introduced monthly Competence Webinars, themed showcases including Engel & Völkers and guest speakers focused on specific skill development topics such as social media marketing, iBuyers, cybersecurity, negotiating, and open houses.
Engel & Völkers Marketing is taking our brand awareness to the next level in 2020 with several exciting, targeted advertising campaigns designed to reach millions of people in Engel & Völkers markets across the Americas. Engel & Völkers is embarking on a digital advertising partnership with Zillow by investing in local brand awareness advertising in all of our markets with Zillow inventory, with the potential to reach 24 million homebuyers in the next three months. In addition, we will also be embarking on a print and digital advertising campaign with Canada’s #1 newspaper, the Globe and Mail. Once a month, an Engel & Völkers listing ad will run in the Saturday national print edition of the Globe and Mail. This advertisement will be featured in the Pursuits section, which highlights stylish living, home decor, fashion, travel, beauty, and other sophisticated lifestyle content.
We closed the day off with the Welcome Reception White Party. Hosted on the grand lawn of the Monarch Beach Resort, our network showed up in their best whites and enjoyed an evening of good food, music, and networking.
Day two kicked off bright and early with our Global CEO, Sven Odia, sharing the vision of the global brand and some exciting plans for the company’s future. Following, we headed into the RED Talks, featuring Realtor.com’s Kristi Kennelly, Philosopher Matthew Ferrera, Social Media Influencer Taryn Rothstein, Engel & Völkers Minneapolis License Partner, Geoffrey Bray, Tim McCarthy of Hart Howerton, concluding with a talk and panel moderated by Milton Pedraza, president of the Luxury Institute.
After a terrific lunch, our network attended breakout sessions featuring talks and panels by our Americas team and leaders in the network. We also had several partners and industry experts, like Realtor.com’s Andrew Dorn and President of Impetus Social, Rebecca Mountain, share some insights.
As always, Day 2 concluded with the Awards Ceremony and The After Party. A special congratulations to Engel & Völkers Montréal for taking home the coveted Engel & Völkers Cup and all the other award winners who were recognized for their hard work and outstanding achievements.
The final day of Exchange began with a dynamic conversation between Anthony Hitt and T360 Chairman & CEO, Stefan Swanepoel regarding trends relevant to today’s real estate professionals, most notably the rise of the iBuyer. Despite the threat of disruption, they explored the fact that there is still plenty of room in the industry for brands that remain true to who they are, like Engel & Völkers.
We then heard from two phenomenal panels consisting of Engel & Völkers advisors and license partners at the top of their game. The first panel, Market Mastery: Infusing Your Market Knowledge into Everyday Success, explored the importance of being a local market expert while our second panel, Power Moves: Actions that Reap Big Rewards, shared several unique and creative strategies and tactics our advisors have used to set themselves apart in their respective marketplaces.
To close out a truly exceptional Exchange, Engel & Völkers Carbondale advisor and former Marine sergeant, Kirstie Ennis, brought the crowd to their feet with an inspiring message of perseverance and giving back.
Engel & Völkers Exchange has officially been renamed EVX and will be held on March 8 – 10, 2021 at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. We look forward to another epic experience with the best network in the industry.
