Here’s to the outstanding fathers in our lives. At Engel & Völkers, we’re thankful for all of the incredible men that truly make a house a home, filling our spaces with fond memories and laughter day in and day out. In celebration of Father’s Day, we are highlighting a few of the remarkable fathers within our network that work with their children, make real estate, and Engel & Völkers — a family business.
Neal Clayton, License Partner of Engel & Völkers Nashville, has been working in real estate for nearly 40 years. Throughout his career, Neal has held a number of leadership positions, from President of the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors to President of the Nashville Humane Association. While being an owner, managing broker, and a community leader, Neal has raised three sons, two of whom currently work for Engel & Völkers. His sons, John and Will joined the family business as real estate advisors in 2008 and 2013, respectively.
“Most everything I know in the business was taught to me by my Dad.”John Clayton, Real Estate Advisor, Engel & Völkers Nashville
Neal has had a remarkable career in the Nashville market and is known as an area expert within the greater metro area. He has passed his vast market knowledge, as well as his strong business acumen down to his sons. To John, it felt like he was raised twice by his father, both as a child and in business, and he still appreciates working with his father…most of the time.
With over 40 years of experience in the Canadian and International real estate industry, License Partner Greg Carros can expertly navigate Vancouver‘s International marketplace. Over the years, he has used his keen eye for real estate trends to guide his son, Andrew, in his role as the chief operating officer for Engel & Völkers Vancouver.
“Without his support, I wouldn’t be where I am today and the relationships and wisdom he has shared with me I intend on passing on through our company.”Andrew Carros, Chief Operating Officer, Engel & Völkers Vancouver
Andrew attributes much of his success to his father’s wisdom. When he joined Engel & Völkers, Andrew was not only introduced to the real estate world but also to the hard work and dedication his father provided to support a family and business at the same time. Andrew has had such a great experience working for his father that he hopes his children will follow in his footsteps as well.
License Partner Bruce Davis of Engel & Völkers Casco Bay has been in the real estate business for 25 years and running his own brokerage for 20. His love of the sea and coast stems from a heritage filled with fisherman and deckhands. He too was a commercial fisherman until deciding that a career near the sea (instead of on it) was for him. For the past five years, he has been a mentor and role model to both of his sons, CJ and Nathan, who work with him in their shops.
“I feel pretty privileged to be learning from one of the best brokers around. He is passionate about what he sells, and his local knowledge is unprecedented.”CJ Davis, Managing Partner/Real Estate Advisor, Engel & Völkers Casco Bay
Bruce is passionate about his waterfront-focused shop; one that is specifically designed to put water-oriented buyers together with their coastal sellers. He is also passionate about making everyone around him successful. He cares deeply about his advisors and is committed to the success of his shops. His dedication, passion, and care, have been rewarded by tremendous success, and this week in Portland, Maine, we are proud to share that he will be opening his third Engel & Völkers shop location.
License Partner Bill Sadek of Engel & Völkers Roseville has over three decades of experience in real estate. Over the course of the last nine years, he has built and overseen the successful growth of his own brokerage and developed a diverse team of 35 talented, licensed professionals who are passionate about their work. One of those professionals is his daughter, Tima Sadek, who works as a real estate advisor. Tima has been working with her father for three years and strives to follow in his footsteps.
“I feel so blessed and lucky to have him as my mentor, he treats his profession as a hobby rather than work because it is something that he is truly passionate about and enjoys.”Tima Sadek, Real Estate Advisor, Engel & Völkers Roseville
Bill’s dedication and drive truly set him apart. He eats, drinks, and sleeps real estate and his caring, thorough nature is evident to everyone who works with him. Tima credits her father for teaching her the ins and outs of real estate (and so much more). When not in the office, the two like to explore different trails in the area.
License Partner Ron Amendola of Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown takes pride in nurturing and mentoring his team of carefully chosen advisors. It’s his mission to recruit, encourage, and mentor the best real estate professionals in Toronto. One of whom happens to be his daughter, Jennifer, who is an operations manager in his shop. The father-daughter duo has been working together for over sixteen years.
“I honor the wisdom and knowledge he has accumulated throughout the years, and he appreciates the fresh perspective and unique skills I bring to the table.”Jennifer Amendola, Operations Manager, Engel & Völkers Toronto Uptown
Ron brings 25 years of experience and knowledge to the business and has amassed a list of accolades and recognition that truly sets him apart. He has always made time for various charitable and philanthropic causes which are near and dear to his heart such as The Children’s Aid Foundation, St. Vincent –de-Paul Christmas Program & Special Olympics Ontario. Ron’s level of meaningful activity and presence in the community is part of what makes him the highly regarded individual he is.
The first 20 years of License Partner Chris Zinn’s professional life were spent in non-profit and ministry work in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Springfield, Missouri; and Tacoma, Washington. Now, at Engel & Völkers Tulsa, he heads the Chris Zinn Group, a team of 11 real estate professionals. His perseverance and tenacity have brought his team immense success — they were the top team for closed sides and volume for Engel & Völkers Americas in 2020.
Chris’s son, Taylor, is one of the members of this highly regarded team.
“My dad has been the best coach in not only real estate but in life and I can’t wait to continue this journey with him at the helm.”Taylor Zinn, Real Estate Advisor, Engel & Völkers Tulsa
Taylor considers working with his father to be an honor and a privilege. As he grew up, he saw the team grow into the dynamic group it is today, and from a young age, he knew that he wanted to work in the family business. And it is a family business; his mother, Traci, is also a part of the Chris Zinn Group and a license partner of Engel & Völkers Tulsa.
